Pilates focuses on the physical, mental, and emotional development of the body as a whole. Through a series of corrective, controlled, and functional movements, the body begins to develop uniformly, and allows the movements of every day life to become more efficient and therefore more easeful. Pilates is perfect cross-training for anyone who is interested in improving their balance, decreasing pain, and reducing their risk of injury.
In the first session, clients will be introduced to various pieces of equipment in addition to basic Pilates exercises on the mat. The reformer and chair both utilize spring tension as support for the body, and provides gentle resistance to help build strength and allow the nervous system to focus on corrective and controlled alignment in their movements.
