“A little more than a year and a half ago I decided to search for a personal trainer who would understand the unique needs of my body.  Due to rheumatoid arthritis and other chronic ailments my physical activity can be limiting.  I have to admit, I was not only skeptical but extremely nervous because I had been to many gyms in the area, but was not comfortable with one trainer I spoke to.  Then I met Brenna, who has changed my life.  I never had the confidence to work out or knew the first thing about exercising my body the right way.  She explained how she would incorporate different exercises with weight training to help my body heal, not hurt, (at least not hurt in the BAD way!).  I have strength in my body I never thought possible.  I recommend her to anyone looking improve their minds, body and spirit, regardless of your physical limitations.”

“I was a bit of wreck when I started training with Brenna—as a former competitive snowboarder and active climber (though I’d been benched at that juncture for about 2 years due to foot surgery, starting a business and old injuries that refused to go away) I’d abused my body quite a bit. I walked crooked, had bad knees, couldn’t sleep on my back, etc. The biggest selling point for me was the accountability, because Brenna can tell when I haven’t been doing my exercises. I can’t recommend Koa Fit or Brenna Backe highly enough. I’ve been able to start climbing again, and even running, which is killer. The best part, though, is the awareness I’ve gained about how I move, and the lack of pain when I do. This is stuff I’ll be thanking Brenna for until I’m hanging tough in a rocking-chair on the porch (and I’ll be probably rocking-chair bound a lot later thanks to her).”

I first went to her to get some balance and strengthen my core while training for an IronMan – and was able to increase my training and had less problems,pain, and injuries. Unfortunately, I had a serious bike accident which prevented me from racing or training for several months. Afterwards she helped me recover, and increase strength and balance enough that I’ve signed up for another triathlon. Her enthusiasm and ability to work with you for your goals, understand your limitations, while at the same time pushing you to get stronger and more balanced.. are just a few of the reasons I would recommend her to anyone.”
