Kerry a longtime yoga practitioner and educator, and specializes in yoga for mid-life and beyond.

Her classes utilize a variety of yogic techniques, breath work, many restorative poses, generous prop usage, strengthening and balancing poses. Through the vehicle of embodied yoga, we gently open the gateways to discover our new rhythm, depth of breath, strength, clarity, and Inner Flow to embrace the journey of Conscious Aging and a healthy life.

Specifically designed for the 55+ crowd, we explore the inner dimensions of self and mind through the lens of the physical body, cultivating healing, empowerment, investigation and dynamic unfolding. This class is best for those with some previous yoga experience. Men and women welcome!

Kerry is the founder of The Art of Conscious Aging and the 63rd Street Yoga Studio. All classes at 63rd Street Yoga are part of the Slow Yoga Movement. Having practiced yoga for over 45+ years, Kerry’s wisdom has expanded through education and passionate exploration of the feminine journey. Her connection to yoga and awakened consciousness has been a thread woven through all the experiences of her life: relationships, marriage, motherhood and parenting, menopause and conscious aging.

Turkey Day Workout 2016

Healthy Hips – Be Balanced Community Event

Join Brenna Backe for an invigorating and intensive hip-opening session that will help you unstick your hips and glide freely once again.  Experience precise and fluid movements that can remove stress and tension on lumbar, sacroiliac, and knee joints.  This hour class will leave you feeling lighter and moving with greater range of motion and fluidity.

Sunrise Hike – Be Balanced Community Event

Sunrise Hike GroupJoin the Koa Fit crew on Thursday, October 13th at 6am for a Sunrise Hike up Mt. Sanitas as part of our Be Balanced Community Series.  Start your day off right by getting some fresh air.  Sunrise is at 7:10am so we should hit the top just in time to see it pop over the horizon.  This Koa Fit tradition is the best way to start the day.  We will meet at the small parking area on Mapleton, right after your cross 4th street, in front of the old hospital.  We will hike up the stairs side and come down the valley.



  • We will start hiking at 6am so please come prepared.
  • Dress warmly and in layers.
  • Please bring a flashlight or headlamp as it may be a little dark when we start.

Foam Roller Class

Join us Thursday, September 15th at 5:30pm for an hour of foam rolling as part of our Be Balanced Community Series.  The roller has had many nicknames including “roller of death”, “torture machine”, and “devil roller”.  We are hoping you fall a little more in love with your roller when you see the diversity it can bring to your home program.  We will spend an hour showing you how to use your full size foam roller (6×36) to relieve aches and pains, stretch out your body, and strengthen your core.

Please bring a full size roller, a mat, and comfortable clothes to this free class.

Koa Fit Field Day

Join the Koa Fit Crew on August 14th from 2pm-4pm for a fun-filled field day at Admiral Burke Park in Boulder as part of our Be Balanced Community Series.  Bring your family and friends to play games and enjoy the fresh air.

2pm-230pm – Frisbee, Bocci Ball, Bean Bag Toss

230pm-3pm – Relay Races

3pm – Kickball, Soccer, Basketball

330pm – Wiffle Ball

Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.  Bring a blanket, snacks, and whatever else you would like to hang out at the park.  We will meet under the trees on the west side of the pond.

4th Annual Stand Up Paddleboarding with Koa Fit

July 22nd 7am-9am

This will be our 4th year out on the water with Rocky Mountain Paddleboards.  Join the Koa Fit crew on July 22nd out at the Boulder Reservoir for some Stand Up Paddleboarding as part of our Be Balanced Community Series. Enjoy the early morning light and the calm water as you get a great core and balance workout. Paddleboarding is easy to learn and fun. Explore the Reservoir in a completely different and rewarding way.

Free Yoga – Be Balanced Community Event

Annette YogaJoin Annette Bray on Saturday, May 21st at 10am for a free yoga workshop.  In this workshop you will learn the concept of grounding and alignment in 2 of the most elemental poses of yoga.  Understand the basics of yoga so that you always maintain alignment to improve both static and dynamic stability. From this place the body begins to become more mobile. You will feel what it means to have grounded connection leading to more strength and freedom in the way you move.  The ability to feel these concepts in the physical body is foundational to a yoga practice that has the ability to heal. Learn about yoga in a way you haven’t experienced before.

BasecampKoa Fit is proud to offer our Basecamp Class for FREE every Saturday in March at 9am.  Don’t miss out on the chance to try out this awesome circuit class that gets your heart pumping and your muscles moving all in a safe, functional workout.  Our Basecamp Circuit Classes focus on functional, primal movements – squat, push, pull, lunge, twist, bend, and gait – because all daily movements can be broken down into one of these basic moves.  Learn to strengthen your body safely, efficiently, and intelligently.

The Koa Fit Intensive

The Koa Fit Intensive is a 4-week program designed to give you a bump in your performance.  Once a week, for 4 weeks you will meet with massage therapist, Siri Nicolella, followed by a 55-minute session with Brenna Backe.  This combination of body work followed by a specific exercise plan will help you change inefficient movement patterns that are limiting your range of motion, your strength potential, and/or keeping you from the activities you love.  Get your body moving better faster with this concentrated program.

The Koa Fit Intensive

  • Intake Session – Assessment of movement, range of motion, strength, and limitations.  We will also use photos and videos to document “before” movement and posture.  Questionnaires and other intake forms may be used depending on client.
  • Intensive Sessions – Sessions will take place on Fridays starting March 18th.  1 hour massages will be followed by a 55 minute training session allowing for a 5 minute transition time.  All sessions are designed specifically for our client.
  • Results – All clients will get “before” and “after” data, including photos and videos.

Intensive Sessions will be on Fridays starting at 9am, 10am, or 11am.  

There are only 3 spots available.

Intakes must be done before March 18th.  Dates of Intensives are March 18th, March 25th, April 1st, and April 8th.
