Rebecca South was born and raised in Niwot, CO, where she began her training as a dancer, which, over the course of 35 years has led to performances with companies in New York City, throughout the United States and the world. During her time in New York City, she taught dance and yoga for 18 years. Highlights of her teaching career include TEDx in Washington DC, a week-long workshop in Beijing, China, and teaching a dance workshop in the Kibera slums in Kenya, Africa. She was a featured clinician at Copper Mountain’s Medical Clinician Festival in 2012. Always ready to learn more about the body, Rebecca’s studies have included Kundalini Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga in India, and the Urban Zen Integrative Therapy (UZIT) initiative started by Donna Karen and Rodney Yee. She has used these therapeutic practices to help patients in cancer treatment centers in New York (Hope Lodge), at Weill Cornell Hospital, as well as individuals in their own homes. Rebecca also completed the Koa Fit Mentorship Program in July 2018. Rebecca’s favorite part of her work is finding the joy of adapting the movement needs of each person that she has seen. Rebecca lives with her family in Boulder and enjoys nightly dance parties with her five-year-old energetic twin boys!
