Amy Briggs‘ passion for movement began in her career in Chicago as a concert pianist and music professor at the University of Chicago, where she helped herself and her students find grounded, efficient, and relaxed ways to perform complex music at the piano. A love of distance running that began in her late 20s led to marathons (including Boston) and trail ultra-marathon races. She moved to Boulder in 2016, in part, to pursue her love of mountain trail running. With several rugged 50-mile and 50K races under her belt, she is training for her first 100-mile race, and also enjoys Nordic skiing.
Her keen interest in anatomy and mobility and desire to keep running without injury led to her 200-hour teacher training in Power Vinyasa Yoga at CorePower Yoga North Boulder, where she currently teaches weekly C2 classes. Initially a client of Siri Schubert’s, Amy was thrilled to join the Koa Fit family. She started the mentorship with Koa Fit owner Brenna Backe and is now a personal trainer helping people get balanced and strong. Always learning, Amy is fascinated with understanding the ‘why’ behind pain and restriction, and loves helping clients pursue the movement they love with more ease, grounding, and efficiency.
